In 1977 (I think) I was spectating on the fence at The Dipper, and was watching Croz wheelieing out of the dipper into the right hander after it. The thing that really impressed me was that as he went around the right hander on the back wheel, and about a metre away from the Armco, he CHANGED UP A GEAR. There was a photo in Revs, which I have (he’s on a Z1 #36).
In 1976 when I took my old Norton to Amaroo for a private practice, some bloke borrowed my pump. My mate said “That’s Croz, the bloke who comes out of ‘stop corner’ sideways”. I thought ‘I’d like to see that’, but I never did ………
